Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis is to decide his future within the next two weeks, according to Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas.
Gomis has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Chelsea over the past 6 months, with the Blues said to of held preliminary talks last month.
Both clubs have sent scouts to France to watch the striker, with Chelsea thought to be keen on wrapping up a deal for the forward. After Demba Ba’s arrival, Chelsea’s stance on the French-born player has been unknown.
The Lyon chairman declared that he expected his player’s future to be decided by the end of the month.
Aulas said: “Bafe has talked about Chelsea in the past as they seem a very prestigious club to him, but there are also other propositions.
“Of course, all the talk is about him moving to England, but there are other European clubs interested in him too.
“I’m sure things will begin to accelerate in the next couple of weeks and we expect things to be sorted soon.”
I think Gomis may be seen as too similar a player to new arrival Demba Ba. I also can’t imagine the Lyon striker to come to Stamford Bridge knowing he would be our third choice starter. Maybe he he rates himself above the likes of Ba or Torres and would like to prove himself. I firmly expect him to leave Lyon this month, but where to…?
I dont realy know what chelsea is doing in the market, let chelsea go and william ane another striker, let lampard and ashly cole to stay
What a stupid tin. Dis is d most risky buy if it goes tru
Chelsea should retain its two men and buy just one world class stricker and not baby stricker(s)
