The odds of having Radamel Falcao donning a Blue Jersey next season continues to rise daily, as current reports linking the Monaco forward to Chelsea keep pointing at a possible loan for the 29 year-old. The player wants a deal ASAP, before the Copa America starting on June 14, which he will be leading the Colombian team to as skipper. However, it is said that Chelsea are taking their time and reading the situation well before making a decision.
Not a club to hastily sign players, especially one that isn’t on top form in his game, the EPL are trying to cut the best deal possible with Monaco as regarding a loan that will make Falcao move to the Stamford bridge after a disappointing loan term with Manchester United. A deal will likely be worked out no doubt, as the former Atletico Madrid’s agent, who is also Mourinho’s is the broker. The player has reportedly agreed to a pay cut, after having pocketed £265,000 pounds per week while at Manchester United. Falcao definitely had one of the worst goals conversion rate, having scored just 4 goals all through the season.
Many are still in awe following the whole development, as Falcao isn’t even qualified for the Chelsea’s bench by all standard. Even hot strikers in their prime failed at Chelsea, but given Mourinho’s fondness of the player, times and things could change for him at the Stamford bridge. The player has been a shadow of his former self in recent times, a situation many blame on his knee injury while in his first season at Monaco. United signed him on a loan on transfer deadline day last season, and were hoping to make him a permanent signing by the end of the season, but 4 goals weren’t enough to get him another term at the Old Trafford. He wants to still spend time in the EPL, and that looks feasible with a Chelsea move more than certain.
