Chelsea To Make OFFICIAL Bid For £32.5m Rated Striker – Not Griezmann

Christian benteke

During Saturday’s F.A Cup final against Arsenal, he could have been a complete shadow of his former self, but that doesn’t deny him of his status as a great and competent striker. Christian Benteke couldn’t help as the Gunners thrashed Aston Villa 4 goals to nothing in the one-sided game. Although he came under scrutiny on the social media, most especially from Liverpool fans, but Chelsea are still poised on getting the Anfield-target for 20 million pounds as the summer transfer approaches.

His buyout clause from Villa is said to be 32.5 million pounds, but neither of Chelsea and Liverpool are willing to part with the amount for the signature of the 24 year-old Belgian. And this could result in endless negotiations between Chelsea and the club, as it doesn’t seem the pensioners regard him high enough to involve any player of theirs in the deal. Benteke has been seen by Mourinho as replacement for the outgone Drogba, following a campaign that has seen him score 11 goals towards the end of the season and helped put Aston Villa in the safe zone after having been earlier threatened with relegation.

The Special One also believes the prospects of playing in the Champions League will be a factor to lure him to Stamford bridge ahead of Anfield where European action isn’t guaranteed. The bulky player’s style of play is also similar to Chelsea’s, and it is believed that he will adapt quickly if he gets to the West London club. It is believed that wherever he ends up at in either of the top 2 contenders, he won’t be easily relegated to play second fiddle to a Costa or a Sturridge, and with the 2 players often injury-prone, he will serve as a good backup, though he also battled his own injury demons earlier in the season, but he picked up quickly.
