With the summer transfer window approaching, lots of clubs have been linked to different players. Manchester United have in the last few weeks been linked to a move for high rated PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay, Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne and last Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan. Depay rumour in particular had intensified in the last few days and there have been reports that the deal is actually a done deal.
However, a journalist tweeted last night that no such deal is in place for not just Memphis Depay but as well as the aforementioned Clyne and Gungodan.
Flies against what I thought, but been told #mufc are not signing Depay, Clyne or Gundogan this summer.

Although this goes against every other report but should it be true, I will want Chelsea to make a move for Depay in particular. The fact that Chelsea getting him when United fans thought he will be their player will be sweet to savour.
Also, considering Chelsea do not have natural wingers, Memphis Depay could do a job for the club. His versatility means he can play not only on the wing but as well as as a striker or behind the striker. This means he can play with Diego Costa or stand in for him when injury strikes.
Should he sign for Chelsea, Chelsea will not only need to rely on the brilliance of Hazard on the wing any more. Also, it should be noted that aside Hazard, Chelsea do not have any other natural midfielder and signing Depay can only be a good thing. With him, we will not have to play central midfielders on the wing like we have had to do this season with Oscar and Willian.
