It has been reported numerous times this summer that Luka Modric would like a move to Chelsea, but Spurs it seems refuse to sell at any price. Well if reports in today’s Sunday newspapers are to be believed a new deal is about to be put on the desk of Daniel Levy.
Chelsea are going to offer £27million for Modric, they have already had bids of £22million and £25million turned down, but this time the £27million will come with the added bonus of striker Daniel Sturridge. It is public knowledge that Harry Redknapp wants a new striker, so this latest offer may be one that is to good to turn down.
A lot depends of whether Chelsea can seal the signature of Romelu Lukaku in the next few days, and if they do Sturridge will be surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, but then isn’t he already?
A source close to Spurs has said the following regarding any deal for Modric. “Daniel (Levy) is adamant that Modric won’t be sold, no matter what Chelsea come up with in terms of a package.”
This latest offer though may just be good enough to tempt Spurs and Levy to part company with their star player, and finally see Luka Modric move across London and become a Chelsea player.
