Last winter the then Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti made a move for Diego Godin of Atletico Madrid and as we all know was unsuccessful, but there are reports surfacing over the last couple of days suggesting that Andre Villas-Boas is about to renew the clubs interest in the Uruguayan defender.
The Sun newspaper reports that AVB wants four top class central defenders in his squad, and since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in the summer he has not been impressed with Alex who looks set to leave in January.
Godin was flattered by Chelsea’s interest last winter and said, “Who would not want to play there? To do so would be a step up.”
So Godin is certainly up for the move it would seem if his comments are anything to go by, and should AVB wish to being him to Chelsea a fee of around £15million has been mentioned. What do you think guys do we need Diego Godin? Does this mean we are not interested in Gary Cahill any more, or are we looking to buy them both? Let us know your thoughts.
For what its worth I think we should sign Cahill over Godin, due to his Premier League experience and his partnership with captain John Terry for England.
I think cahill we be more favourable becos of his premership experince chelsea shuld go 4 cahil rather dan godis up chelsea 4 life
i’m a chelsea fan spark or call me solution dxguy.chelsea should luke for a young start, like 4rm 18 or 20years guyz hoo have fresh blood and skills of football, the shuld go 2 branzil or spain all any other countries!
cahill is not bad let go 4 him
Chelsea do not need defenders as of now. If and only if Alex is sold, Cahill would be my choice as he would also be worth around the same and especially if Ashley is sold, we could do with some more English players in the first team.
