The latest transfer rumour is that Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Mexican striker Ulises Davila from Chivas in a deal believed to be worth in the region of £2million.
Davila has been playing in the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia and has been attracting interest from a host of Europe’s top clubs. The report also goes on to suggest that Davila will be loaned out to Dutch side Vitesse to gain some much need experience of playing in Europe. A loan deal would also give Chelsea time to work on getting a work permit for the youngster.
Chivas president Jorge Vergara has other ideas and he insists no offer has been made from Chelsea and he said, “There are many rumours, but we’ve received no bid. Chivas will not stop a player signing, but as yet nothing is in play, Chelsea have not yet bid.”
So two contrasting stories and we will leave it up to you to make your own mind up which one is true. Ulises Davila could be another Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez perhaps.
Anyone actually heard anything about this boy?
Chelsea shud go and make a bid 4 davila. He’s a gud prospect.
What do we need him 4.we ve got plenty of strikers
haven’t heard anything about this striker ….
good luck for chelsea for bring him to stampford bridge …
keep the blue flags flying High !!!
I am chivas fan so I’ll give you the info I have on him. He is left-footed but is uncharacteristically good with his right for a left-footed player. He is more of an attacking-midfielder, second striker kinda player but I’ve seen him play every position in midfield and attack. He has a creative side to him game with a lot of technique and a great shot. Definitely a great prospect…he was really the creative engine for Mexico’s U-20 team which finished 3rd.

Yeah, as the article said, he played for Mexico’s 3rd place U-20 squad. He’s a pretty good player but he’s no Chicharito, if that’s what anyone is expecting. He’s not a poacher, he’s actually an attacking mid. As an attacking mid he’s good at creating plays up top and can score. So yeah, if he’s signed expect to have a midfielder in the future, not a “pure” striker like Chicharito, that is unless he can also be a poacher, but from what i’ve seen, he plays like a mid. Great player though. Great idea to send him off to Netherlands first, so the transition from Mex league to EPL isn’t so drastic. I mean he’s still a very young player at 19 years old.
I am mexican and have seen this little guy play a few times. He has a good dribble and good field vision, although he is not a marvel (but, he is 19 so…). He is really quick thinking and is quite fast too. Good player overall but not the best in Chivas, a great sub to change games.
Davila plays for my club, he’s only had about 15 appearances but that’s mostly because he’s always playing in one of Mexico’s youth teams.(like the u-20 world cup that just ended)
He’s a forward but he’s not the kind to bag lots of goals, he likes to drift to the wings and create chances, of course he can also score a goal or two, but if you are thinking that you are getting the next Chicharito, you’d be wrong, this is not him. He’s the kind of player that would play in a 4-3-3, but not as the main striker.
