Chelsea to test Arsenal resolve to keep Walcott

Chelsea are persisting in their bid to sign Theo Walcott, regardless of Arsene Wenger saying he won’t be sold in January.

Theo’s contract runs out in the summer, and will be allowed to talk to foreign clubs in January about a possible move at the end of the season.

Arsene Wenger has insisted he expects the England international to sign an extension, and that they will not let the player leave in the winter transfer window.

The Ex-Southampton forward has been linked with moves to Liverpool and Manchester United, but is thought to prefer to stay in London, where he was born.

Chelsea are firmly expected to sell Daniel Sturridge to Liverpool for a fee of £14million, but will not sanction the deal until the club have signed replacement.

Daniel Sturridge almost moved on loan to Liverpool in the summer, only for the player to decide a loan was not in his best interests.

Radamel Falcao is rumoured to be top of Roman Abramovich’s wish-list, and is ready to make the player his highest earner.

I think either Theo Walcott or Wilfried Bony should be signed up, as back-up for Fernando Torres and Falcao. Walcott has impressed me this season, with some deadly crosses and blistering pace. He has improved his dead-ball crossing as well, taking Arsenal’s corners and setting up goals. Theo or Bony?
