Chelsea To Trigger £18.5m Release Clause Of POWERFUL DM – The End Of Matic Near

Chelsea goal celebrationAccording to reports from Portugal, Porto have set an £18.5 million pound price tag on Chelsea target Giannelli Imbula.

The 23 year old French midfielder who joined Porto from Ligue 1 side Olympic Marseille last summer has failed to settle with life in Portugal. According to the reports he wants to move on in January transfer window.

The player who performed prominently for Marseille the season before appearing 37 times, joined Porto in July 2015. Had this to say after making the move to Porto;

“I’m very happy to have signed for port. It is a club that has won many European trophies. They have a great team and I hope to make a contribution”.

But that feeling seems to have vanished as the player and his father are reportedly set to offer Chelsea his (Imbula) services.

The French midfielder who was linked to a move to Inter Milan opted to join Porto. His performances have earned made top premier league sides monitor his situation this season. The likes of Totten Ham, Arsenal and Chelsea have all being on alert.

Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho first got a firsthand look at Imbula when Chelsea faced Porto in the champion’s league group stages, the midfielder exceled on that night putting up standout performance against the blues.

And chelsea Nemanja Matic seems a shadow of the player he was just a few months ago so Chelsea need Imbula to reinvigorate the midfield and pose competition for Matic Mikel, and Ramires.
