As Chelsea ended a five year Premier League title drought last weekend, Mourinho will waste no time looking to improve his squad for next season. Chelsea has been linked to multiple players throughout the season, most recently Paul Pogba, Andrea Pirlo, Koke, Christian Benteke, Seamus Coleman, Diego Godin, and Asmir Begović.
Paul Pogba will be the biggest story this summer. With links to virtually every big club, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, and Chelsea. He is certainly going to be on his way out of Italy, but it is up to him to decide what the next step in his career will be. It will cost which ever club he chooses around £210,000 a week and £60million up front for the fee. Great news for Chelsea supporters, the London based club are in the lead for the Frenchman’s signature [Metro].
With Andrea’s Pirlo time at Juventus dwindling, he will look to take the next step in his storied career. He is already 35 years old, and as a result will be almost free if Chelsea wants to sign him. Pirlo is still one of the best midfielders in the world, and is one of the greatest free-kick takers of all time. Pirlo has completed an astounding 88% of his passes this season.
Koke is one of the more likely players to arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer. As reported by the extremely reliable source, Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea is interested in signing the Spaniard. Koke would add an extra level of depth to Mourinho’s squad, helping push them further into the Champions League. His teammate, Diego Godin could also be a good signing for Mourinho, but he plays a more centralized role, and would be playing behind Cesc Fàbregas.
Seamus Coleman is a right-back that plays for Everton. The Irish international has been recently heavily linked to a move to Chelsea, and could be Branislav Ivanović’s long term replacement. He would cost Chelsea around £20million, but he could be worth every pound.
Christian Benteke could be the quality backup to Diego Costa that Chelsea has been looking for all season, while Asmir Begović could be the backup goalkeeper to Thibaut Courtois next season, if Petr Čech is to leave.
