As the summer transfer window opens on July 1. Chelsea keeps gearing up for the addition of players to the squad towards the coming campaign. The special one is however focusing on having a stellar performance on the continental level. Mourinho doesn’t have to say it, but he desires to win the Champions League for Chelsea next season after a disappointing round of 16 exit in the ongoing UEFA campaign.
The coach is particular on his plans for some of the youth players. Notably, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Dominic Solanke. RLC has started two league games this season, his second being the Liverpool match that ended in a draw. He put up an impressive performance, and the coach guarantees him first team action if he keeps playing at that level next season.
“For Solanke to go out on loan to a Championship team, or to another team in England or Europe, would be a big mistake”
Solanke was superb in all the youth versions of competitions this season, guiding the Chelsea under-21 to silverwares. The coach has denied any speculation linking the starlet to a loan outside the Stamford Bridge by summer.
Brazil duo, 19 year-olds Nathan and Kenedy are also on the target list. With the former already signed but yet to be officially presented, and the latter, a Fluminense striker on his way to the club as a bid of 4 million pounds is being prepared for his signature. However, the Brazil under-20 internationals will be spending some times on loan in order to get their European documentation paper works cleared.
Monaco midfielder, Geoffrey Kondogbia is also being targeted by the blues. And a sum of 25 million pounds is being prepared for the French defensive midfielder. The 22 year-old has been a great contribution to the 3rd league position of the high-spending Ligue one outfit. Arsenal and Liverpool also want his services for the summer.
