Chelsea Transfer News – Schneiderlin, Salah, Cech, Bamford & Others

Giannelli Imbula

A victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday and Chelsea F.C becomes the winner of the Barclay’s English Premier League for the 2014/2015 season. This is coming after 5 seasons of going without the title. It has been a long season, and one of Chelsea’s keys to winning the title has been consistency. They upped their game and it has finally paid of. Definitely, Jose Mourinho remains the special one.

However, the team failed to advance beyond the round of 16 at the UEFA Champions League, and this was a concern to the Portuguese Coach. In bid to strengthen the team towards next season’s campaign, the transfer window promises to be fully engaged by the club, as there will be a team reshuffle, with some players departing, and some coming into the star-studded side. Few of the transfers in and out of the club to expect are:

PETR CECH

32 years old veteran goalie has fallen from the pecking orders, following the arrival of former loanee, Courtois from Atletico Madrid. His first-team appearances have been limited, and the Czech republic shotstopper has expressed his displeasure. He is definitely on his way out of Stamford bridge, and there have been speculations that he is more likely to end up in Arsenal. Reason being that his family is settled in London, and first-team action is guaranteed. Cech has also drawn interests from PSG who are ready to pay the same weekly wages Chelsea pays him. If money wins, then expect one of the best goalkeepers of his generation in France come summer.

MORGAN SCHNEIDERLIN

The Southampton’s midfielder has been impressive this season. He has never committed a defensive blunder and has been the soul of the Saints team this season. The Frenchman has expressed his eagerness to play in the Champions League, and with Chelsea beckoning, he is poised to depart. Mourinho has been following his transfer details and he hopes to bring him to the team in order for him to be paired in deep midfield with Matic. This will allow for Cesc to be able to operate upfront. All things being equal, and with Chelsea willing to pay 25 millions pounds, the Frenchman could be in Stamford bridge come summer.

GIANNELLI IMBULA

Marseille defensive midfielder has been linked with Chelsea. With the blues reportedly in talks with the Ligue 1 side over a 20 million pounds deal. The 22 years old French player is also a midfield option to pairing Matic.

MOHAMED SALAH

Egypt’s Mohamed Salah is currently on loan at Italy with Seria A outfit, Fiorentina. His loan expires at the end of the season, and he is yet to decide his future. The winger, who had a slow start to life at Chelsea is however doing well in Italy. He has guided his club to an Europa League semifinal spot. Salah refused to make comments concerning his future as he says he is yet to make a decision. It has been said that Fiorentina may decide to hand him a loan extension contract.

PATRICK BAMFORD

Chelsea loanee who was recently voted best player and young player of the year at the Champions could be on his way to the Premier League. As first team action isn’t guaranteed yet at the Stanford bridge, he is likely to head to Aston Villa in order to get firsthand EPL experience.
