Chelsea wants to spend big when the summer transfer window opens by July 1. The newly-crowned EPL Champions are looking at a more formidable team by next season, hence they are making earnest preparations in acquiring the big players money can assemble. Jose Mourinho has made it clear he wants 4 major signings made, a goalie, defender, midfielder and a forward.
As Petr Cech departs Stamford bridge at the end of the season, relegated QPR keeper, Rob Green is set to be sold by the Championship-bound club for 4 million pounds. The 35 year-old Green who made 31 league appearances for his side this season, is seen as an ideal backup to Courtois. The England international has been on impressive form despite his age, and it is hoped he will also provide competition for the 22 Belgian.
Atletico Madrid star striker, Griezmann is on his way to the Stamford bridge following the involvement of super agent, Jorge Mendes. The French international’s transfer has been met with resistance over fees. Rojiblanbos have a 43 million pound-buyout clause on the 24 year-old, but Chelsea wants to offer 35 million and an addition of Luis Filipe for his services. With the Portuguese agent now involved, the deal is expected to be wrapped up soon.
A 36 million pound-deal is set to be negotiated over the services of Real Madrid’s defender, Raphael Varane. The defender has been subject to heavy competition at the Bernabeu in recent times, and could favour a move to his former coach’s side. Mourinho is still keen of having the 22 year-old play for him. And Chelsea will be meeting with Real Madrid over his services as he isn’t likely to renew his contracts. Madrid might not be willing to let go of him at the moment, but could be tempted with the 36 million pounds.
