Fulham v Chelsea: Ancelotti praises Hodgson

The Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti knows Roy Hodgson reasonable well, and has nothing but praise for his style of management.

He said: “I know Roy very well because he coached in Italy at Inter Milan. He liked to have a team with very good defensive organisation.

He worked very well on that in Italy,” he said. “He has a good reputation there.

“When he coached Switzerland I stayed with him for one week to study his training. He is very organised.

“It was a very interesting week for me. I saw another kind of work. I remember a month later we played Switzerland and they beat us 2-1 in Cagliari!”

Well Carlo, we very much hope he doesn’t beat you again tomorrow!
