If you believe the daily mail, Chelsea are ready to make a move for Porto Brazilian defender Alex Sandro once the summer transfer window is open. According to the report, Chelsea have been watching the Brazilian for sometime and hope to complete a deal for him in the summer but will let Luis Filipe who joined only last summer for a fee believed to be £15.8 million to leave the club.
Luis Filipe is, according to some other reports, likely to be used as a sweetener in the deal that will see Chelsea sign Koke from Atletico Madrid. He is reportedly wanted back by Atleti and Chelsea are ready to let him re-join the Spanish club if it means the Blues will get Koke.
Alex Sandro has been one of Porto’s best players this season. He has so far played 36 games and scored once for the club. He joined Porto in 2011 from Maldonado of Uruguay. He reportedly has three years left on his contract which means he is not going to come cheap. This is especially so if you consider the amount Porto have demanded ( and gotten ) for some of the players they have sold in the past few years.
The player is reportedly available for £30 million which to me is a fee Chelsea are very unlikely to pay considering how prudent the club has been in the transfer window lately.
