Chelsea's AVB Denies Interest In English Star Midfielder

Amid rumours which were linking Everton’s star midfielder Jack Rodwell with a possible move to Chelsea, Blues manager Andres Villas-Boas snubbed the possibility of the young English international to join them in January.

“I saw that we’d been linked with him. First, it’s important to clarify that it’s unfair that I constantly comment on other players.

“In midfield, we don’t need players. Rodwell has been playing there this season.

“Midfield is not a sector where we’re desperate to strengthen our squad. So at the moment those stories are false.”

Although he said that Chelsea doesn’t need reinforcements in the midfield, Villas-Boas will still be looking to bring in transfers for other positions in the squad, and the defence seems to be the main target. Who do you think should come?
