Chelsea's Daniel Sturridge demands central-role at Liverpool

Daniel Sturridge’s demands have been sent to Liverpool this week, with the players demands becoming public.

Daniel Sturridge has told Liverpool, that if they wish to sign him they will have to cough up £80K a week, and wants clarification that he will be utilised as a striker, not forced to play out on the wing.

This is likely to price Liverpool out of a move, with £80k a week seeming excessive for a player who has been plagued by injury for the past 6 months and failed to find form in between.

Liverpool were most likely hoping to play Sturridge as a winger in a 4-3-3 formation, as well as have the striker as back-up for Luis Suarez, who is currently being heavily relied upon.

It is thought that Manchester City will receive 15% of any sell-on fee that Chelsea receive for the England squad member.

Sturridge was a key member of Andre Villas-Boas Chelsea squad, scoring and creating goals from a centre forward role as well as from the wing.

He has since fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and looks likely to leave in January if the right offer was to come in.

Daniel Sturridge had been an exciting addition to the squad but his input has lacked this season, and I wish him well in the future. He seems to be under-rated by Chelsea, so you can’t begrudge him for wanting to move on. Will you miss him?
