Chelsea's Ivanovic confirms Real Madrid interest
One of the best players at Chelsea this season, Branislav Ivanovic, claims not to be interested in the possibility of making the move from London to Madrid to join Real, despite he does admit that the offer from Spain’s new champions is real.
According to Ivanovic, he’s happy at Chelsea after winning the Champions League with the Blues, and he doesn’t see any reason for him to make a move now that he has such an important role in Chelsea’s defense.
“Yes, I know that a lot has been said about my future and that Madrid is interested and tracking me,” Ivanovic told Marca.
“I know that Madrid is interested, but now isn’t the time to be talking about that.
“I’m focused on the national team at the moment and I’m really happy at Chelsea and in London.
“I just won the Champions League a week ago and changing teams is not in my thoughts right now.”
Real Madrid are looking to improve their squad after being knocked out of the Champions League semi-finals by Bayern Munich, and they’re likely to submit a bid this summer for Chelsea’s defensive star. Ivanovic is a very good material, he is playing a very fantastic role in chelsea. I believe his best is yet to come. Who so ever emerge as d next coach should not make a mistake by trying to let him go.

Letting Ivanovic leave either due to a transfer request by him which is unlikely or a decision by the club to cash in on him wud be a costly mistake for the blues. He is invaluable for Chelsea been able to play at both right back and providing cover at centre back. In addition, he’s our highest scoring defender, very good at set piece and rock solid at defence. Moreso, his consistency is overwhelming and will ever be a force to reckon with.
