According to reports in Dailymail, Chelsea will recall back Patrick Bamford from his loan spell with Middlesbrough by June. According to the reports, Chelsea have opened talks with the Englishman with a view to renewing his current contract which expires at the end of the season.

Patrick Bamford, 21, has scored a total of 17 goals for Boro in the championship this season. He scored one and assisted another in Boro’s 2-1 victory over play-ff rivals Wolveshampton wanderers on Tuesday evening.

Manager Aitor Karanka will be hoping the Chelsea striker’s good form will help inspire his side to automatic promotion into the premier league. Boro will be playing Norwich tomorrow and should they win, they will further hance their chances of gaining promotion into the premier league. Boro are currently 4th on the table with 81 points. Just two points behind table toppers AFC Bournemouth who are on 83 points.

The high rated English man who is currently on a reported £7,500 a week contract will have his wages considerably improved as part of his new contract. Should he sign a new deal, it is expected that he will be with Chelsea next season as Jose Mourinho is very unlikely to allow him go on another loan spell.

With Diego Costa and Remy being Chelsea’s only major striking option and both seemingly injury prone, Bamford may just find himself playing for Chelsea’s first team next season especially if the Blues do not buy another striker in the summer.
