Confirmed By Mourinho – World Class Striker On The Way To Stamford Bridge

Jose-mourinhoChelsea boss, Jose Mourinho has recently confirmed that AS Monaco striker, Radamel Falcao is just one of the strikers on his shortlist for this summer. Falcao was one of the most prolific strikers in the world just three seasons ago, but after suffering a severe knee injury after he arrived at Monaco from Atletico Madrid, he has been unable to revive his former form. Monaco and Manchester United agreed on a deal to send Falcao to Old Trafford on loan for just one season, and it was a failure. He appeared in 26 Premier League matches for Manchester United last season, where he only scored four goals, but assisted another four, and Louis van Gaal decided he did not need to extend the loan deal.

Didier Drogba’s time as a player at Stamford Bridge has come to an end, and Jose Mourinho will have to replace him with another backup striker. But Falcao could be an interesting story, because he is one of the best strikers in the world, and could easily bump Diego Costa out of his starting spot if he can get back to his goalscoring ways. Or, even better, Mourinho could take Oscar out of his lineup, and use two strikers, Falcao and Costa up top. Would be absolutely devastating for Premier League defenses, two of the best finishers in Europe, playing off of each other again. Yes again, Falcao and Costa played in a similar role together in their time at Atletico Madrid.

Mourinho has confirmed that he will be shopping for another striker this summer, stating that…

“We will be better, I don’t see our team losing players. I don’t see our team losing our qualities, especially our mental, emotional approach to matches, to the season, to the competition. We have to buy a striker because we want to have three strikers of a good level. We do not want to have just one. Then you lose a good position on the negotiation table.”

Falcao will be playing for Colombia in the Copa America this summer, and if you’re a Chelsea fan, than tune in to see your future star in action.
