Raheem Sterling’s agent, Aidy Ward, has stated that his client would prefer a move to either Chelsea or Manchester City this summer, but he will not be playing for Liverpool next season. Sterling has created waves this season regarding a contract renewal at Anfield, but it took a new turn on Thursday when the Evening Standard published these quotes from Ward. He dug into Jamie Carragher, calling him a ‘knob’ and that Sterling wouldn’t agree to a new contract at Liverpool, even if he was offered £100,000 a week. He also declared that Chelsea and Manchester City are in the lead for his client’s signature, and according to the Standard, Sterling isn’t interested in Real Madrid, Barcelona, or Bayern Munich and that he would like to stay in his native country.

His quotes read as such…

“I am not worried. Worried is making a decision not knowing what is going to happen. Every Premier League club will make a bid for him,”

The Daily Mirror reported earlier in the week that Manuel Pellegrini was ready to bid a colossal £40million for the 20 year old winger. They also reported that Chelsea are willing to sell both Oscar and Juan Cuadrado to fund their own move to Sterling.

Raheem Sterling received a quite welcoming boo from his Liverpool supporters as he was awarded his Young Player of the Year award on Tuesday. Reports state that he is set to meet with Brendan Rodgers on Friday to discuss his future, and then the public will finally know whether or not Sterling will be playing for the Reds next season.

Raheem Sterling would be a great player at Chelsea, and would thrive under José Mourinho’s system.  Playing across from Eden Hazard, he will not have the same amount of pressure that he has at Liverpool, and with a consistent striker in Diego Costa up top, he no longer has to worry about finishing all the chances he creates on his own. Chelsea would have a very scary attack next season if they were able to bring in Sterling, with Fabregas, Costa, Hazard and Willian already in the ranks.
