Courtois insists he will NOT be part of Falcao to Chelsea deal

The young Belgian keeper Thibaut Courtois signed a five year contract with Chelsea when he was signed from Genk in 2011. Although hugely talented, the then 18-year old needed to play regularly to gain experience so was immediately loaned out to the Spanish Primera Liga club Athletico Madrid. Courtois quickly became the first choice goalkeeper for Athletico, and is now in his second season with them.

I am sure that the Spanish club would love to keep him, and he has also been linked with Barcelona and Real Madrid, but Chelsea do not want to lose him and the 20-year old is determined to replace Petr Cech. The problem is that 30-year old Cech has many years left at the top level.

It is no secret that Chelsea are one of the many clubs that would love to sign the Colombian striker Radamel Falcao from Athletico. The striker has pushed on again this season and is well on course to beat his last tally of 36 goals in all competitions. Reports have surfaced that claim Chelsea are going to offer Courtois as part of the deal to bring Falcao to Stamford Bridge, but the young keeper has dismissed this. He thinks that in two year’s time he will be keeping goal for Chelsea.

“They will continue with Cech for two more years I believe.

“The problem is, I think, that they didn’t expect me to be at this level this soon. I’ve developed really quickly. It’s a very good situation for Chelsea.

“A lot of things the press say are nonsense. They are guessing.

“They know Chelsea want Falcao but Chelsea have told me `the last thing we want to do is sell you`. Maybe they are lying to me, but I don’t think so.”
