Deal Agreed – £165,000-A-Week Chelsea Target Agrees Four Years Deal

Chelsea Squad

Paris Saint-Germain striker, Edinson Cavani, has agreed to a deal that will send him to Juventus for a fee of £22million, and a yearly salary, similar to his Paris contract, around £5.5million [Italian Gazzetta Dello Sport]. The Uruguayan striker has not impressed during his time in Paris, and a move away from France would make sense. He has been linked to Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Atlético Madrid, and Juventus. If Carlos Tevez really wants to leave Italy to play in South America like the media claims, Juventus will be in dire need of a world-class striker. They have also been heavily linked to breakout star, Paulo Dybala. Dybala plays for Palermo, and has the Serie A experience already under his belt, and will not have to adjust his game like Cavani would have to.

Cavani was thought to be the next great striker during his times in Spain, playing for Atlético Madrid, but since his move to France, he has yet to revive his Spanish-form. Falling behind Zlatan Ibrahimović, and being unable to replace the 33 year-old. Some speculate whether Cavani would actually be allowed to leave, with PSG President stating that

“As for Cavani, I’ve not met him yet, but he’s still young, he’s the future of the club. He just needs more confidence, but he showed his talent in the last game. He’ll be here again next year. We won’t even consider any offers.”

Cavani scored a hat-trick against Guingamp on Friday, and maybe a hint towards him showing improvements in his game, but until then, rumors will spread about his departure.

Chelsea is obviously looking to sign another striker this summer, whether it be Cavani, Dybala, Falcao, Lacazette, Griezmann, or Benteke, they will have a stronger attacking corps then they did this season. Didier Drogba may be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer, with serious links to MLS clubs. Loïc Rémy’s injury problems have proven too much for him to handle, and he could also be sold this summer.  Diego Costa will still be Mourinho’s main man up top, but Mourinho may look to either buy a solid reserve for him, or another star to play alongside of him.
