Chelsea have been handed a major boost in the bid to sign former Manchestr United midfielder Paul Pogba from Italian serie A side Juventus after Real Madrid reportedly pulled out of the race to sign the French man. According to quotes attributed to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, Real Madrid are not pulling out of the race to sign the player because of monetary reasons but rather because of the player’s reserved private life.
Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester City and Arsenal have all been linked to the player at one stage or the other in the last few months and only yesterday there were reports of Real Madrid pulling out because of the staggering €100m valuation of the player but speaking to the press in Spain, Perez rebuffed the claims saying;
“Until a year ago [Pogba] lived with his mother, he doesn’t come out at night and yes, he’s very religious,” as quoted by the Daily Express.
Although Real Madrid’s reason for pulling out of the race to sign him is weird, it is however a big opportunity for Chelsea to sign the player. Already, it has been reported that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is interested in having the player at Chelsea and he is ready to do all it takes to sign the player despite the threat of FFP.
Chelsea should go for Koke instead of pogba. we also need to get Nathaniel Clyne and Alexander Lacazette, Raphael Varane. these are the players we need to focus on now.
