Di Santo – The New Messi!

Our young Argentinian striker Franco Di Santo may not yet have scored a competitive senior goal for the Blues yet, but he did recently play well and score against Club America on the pre-season tour! He’s only played nine official games for Chelsea against 25 games for the Argentinian U20 team, but he aspires to be as good as the best player in the senior team, Lionel Messi.

“I would like to be the new Messi. We know each other quite a lot,” he told La Nacion.

“When we met in last season’s Champions League I gave him my congratulations, he is a great player.

“I spoke all that I could with him but he is a bit shy.”

He then went on to say which players at Chelsea he gets along with best: “I have an excellent relationship with Drogba because we make a lot of mess in the dressing room, and Terry is another great person,”

“Sometimes he picks me up at home, he takes care of the all the details.”

I wonder what sort of “mess” he makes with Drogba? Maybe there was something lost in translation there? Messing around, perhaps?

Anyway, its great that he is ambitious, and i have a feeling he will make it into the Chelsea first team in the next few years. Perhaps a loan deal at Blackburn would be good for him this season, and if he performs well he should then be integrated in the first team.
