Didier Drogba To Return To Chelsea For €4 Million A Year Deal?

Famous Portuguese Newspaper, A Bola, known for various transfer stories has published a report claiming that former Chelsea striker, Didier Drogba is being tempted with a €4 Million a year contract by Juventus.

The report, which was published in Portuguese, suggests that Drogba, who scored Chelsea’s winning penalty against Bayern in the Champions League final played 2 seasons ago, is subject of a bid from the Italian giant. The tabloid claimed in its report that the Ivorian international was made the offer through his representative. Drogba’s contract with current club Galatasaray expires at the end of this summer; and several clubs are said to be interested in signing the African.

Drogba, who is billed to captain his country to this year’s World Cup in Brazil, has continued with his goal scoring form while in Turkey. His goals this season has really helped his team both in the Turkish League as well as in the Champions League where they recently crashed out against the player’s former team. The temptation to take Drogba in for a season just like he did with Samuel Eto’o is an option for Jose Mourinho, who still holds the player in high regard.

Drogba is held in high esteem in Chelsea, and his return may not be a bad idea since the club is currently searching for a world-class striker. If the Ivorian is considering us as an option for next season; that won’t be a bad idea considering how helped us win a lot of trophies before leaving to join a Chinese club 2 seasons ago.

I wouldn’t mind having him in the team a second time. Though, he seems to have slowed down a little and doesn’t have the kind of pace we have known him for when he was donning our famous blue jersey; the fact that he still scores regularly for Galatasaray means he still has a season or two in him. I will definitely not mind him back for €4 million a year deal.

Besides, the players have a lot to benefit from his return; especially in the dressing room. His achievements are impeccable, and most of the young players in the team will be inspired having a player like him around.
