Hopefully, Atletico Madrid’s talisman, Antoine Griezmann will be at the Stamford bridge next season, as it seems all is set by both clubs to reach an agreement following the intervention of Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes. His 43 million-pound release clause is reportedly being renegotiated, as Chelsea wants to reduce it with the swapping of Atletico Madrid’s former left back, Filipe Luis for the France international. The deal, that has dragged on for quite a number of days, might finally be getting conclusive, and as suggested, the 24 year-old’s mind is already set on a move to the EPL Champions’ side.
Atletico Madrid handler, Diego Simeone is also keen on reuniting with Filipe. Although he isn’t content with Griezmann departing, but Chelsea involving his favorite leftback in the transfer seems to have calmed his nerves. The Brazil international’s former teammate, Tiago also stresses the Rojiblancos’ stance on his purported return.
“We all know Felipe. I love him. If he is not happy then he knows the doors are open here. Here we always want players who have served the club and I have no doubt that he’d be well received.”
With that, the 29 year-old, who could only make 9 league starts for Chelsea will be headed back to the Vicente Calderon in exchange for the services of Griezmann at the Stamford bridge next summer. Chelsea are desperate to bring in Griezmann, and letting go of Filipe wouldn’t be hesitant for them. He had failed to impress following his transfer from La Liga last summer. Meanwhile the 24 year-old Griezmann had gone ahead to guide Atletico to a 3rd place finish with his goals, and he is joint 3rd highest goal scorer with Neymar. The goal scoring machine of a striker has been seen by Mourinho as the perfect forward to guide Chelsea to greater heights next season.
very nice deal but i hope 2 loan filipe not 2 sell
