Ever since Thibaut Courtois returned to Stamford Bridge after three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid, he has been on excellent form, forcing Jose Mourinho to make Petr Cech the second choice man-in-goal. This decision isn’t one the Czech Republic first-choice is comfortable with, and he is set to depart come summer, in order to get more playing time elsewhere.
The 32 years old is heading to France to join Ligue one champions, Paris Saint Germain. Though both Arsenal and Liverpool have also shown interest in signing the highly-experienced helmet-donning goalkeeper, but rather, he heads to PSG as the club seeks replacement for Salvatore Sirigu towards the coming season. Sirigu has had dismal displays this season for the club.
Ex-Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins says a deal has already been sealed for the goalie between both clubs, and Cech won’t be in England by next summer. This might not go down well with some Chelsea fanatics, as any injury to Courtois will leave the club without the services of fans-favourite Petr. The 6ft 5 inches 6th most-capped Chelsea player is still in great shape, and a solid man in goal. His expertise will come handy at PSG, and Chelsea must find a replacement for him just in case anything happens to coach’s favorite Thibaut Courtois.
