Done Deal? Chelsea Agree Transfer Of £100k-A-Week Champions League Winner

Petr-Cech

According to English media out let, the Metro, Chelsea and PSG have come to an agreement on the transfer of Chelsea’s veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech. Metro who attributed their claim to former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins claim the Czech republic star will be announced as a PSG once the summer transfer window is flagged open.

Although a big fans’ favorite, Cech’s first team opportunities so far this season as been limited due to the heroics of Spanish youngster Thibaut Courtois who was recalled from his loan spell with Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea who has only few weeks ago confirmed he will reconsider his future with the blues come the end of the season has been linked to several big European clubs.

The player was recently quoted to have said;

“I don’t know what the club’s idea will be,” Cech told the website of Czech newspaper Idnes ( quote via talksport )

“It looks like it works well with me and Thibaut as a duo.

“But that can work for one season only. I don’t want another one like this.

“There always will be speculation. I leave it for the summer.

“It will be important to sit down with the club and with the manager to consider all the pros and cons. We will see what will work out the best.”

Although metro are not one of the most reliable media outlets out there, the fact that they are attributing their hefty claim to former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkis speaks volume. Ray Wilkis having coached Chelsea is very likely to get a few insider information from the club. The former English player who also doubles as a TV pundit made the clain on beIN Sport during yesterday’s champions league quarter final clash between PSG and Barcelona.

However, the fact that PSG themselves have a good keeper in Salvatore Sirigu who is just 28 years old makes one wonder why PSG would be going for Petr Cech who judging by the quotes above will be looking to leave Chelsea in other to join another club where he will be able to command more regular playing time.

Aside PSG, Arsenal were reportedly interested in signing the the player but off course, we all know Mourinho is not likely to allow the player to join Arsenal who he considers his direct rival in the league.
