Chelsea target Sami Khedira has reported undergone a medical with Juventus ahead of a summer move to the club, reports Italian football journalist Tancredi Palmeri.
Sami Khedira’s contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer and having refused to agreed terms on another contract with the club, he is free to move away from the Bernabue on a free transfer.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea were said to be interested in signing the German. Jose Mourinho was said to be keen on signing the player as a back up/competition for Serbian star Matic.
However, in the last few days it was reported the player had met with officials from Juventus and will now be signing a contract with the club that will see him earn as £2.6million per season and will sign for 4 years.
If true, it may well bring about a good news for Chelsea as that would mean Vidal can leave Juventus and he has been linked to Chelsea. Reportedly available for a cut price £20 million, signing Vidal who is younger than Sami Khedira will make a lot of sense. He will not only allow Jose Mourinho push Fabregas upfront ( to the 10 role where he had his best season for Arsenal ) but as well offer Mourinho the needed option if/when Matic is not able to play due to injury or fatique.
