For Chelsea, this is arguably one of the most long-drawn transfer sagas of the winter as Alex Texeira has been on the radar of the Blues even before the opening of the market.
For those waiting to see Texeira to lace his boots for Chelsea, that dream would be realised before the close of this transfer window.
Latest reports according to the Metro claims Alex Texeira has agreed to join Chelsea in a £30 million deal after reaching a verbal agreement.
Prior to the sack of Jose Mourinho, Texeira has revealed that he would love to play for Chelsea as he admires the Portuguese tactician. A deal was thought to be in the offing for the player but was placed on hold after Mourinho was relieved of his managerial position.
However, giving the quality of the player, Hiddink will be well aware of what he can bring to Chelsea in midfield. Texeira has netted 22 goals in 15 League games despite playing as an attacking midfielder.
Chelsea have not only been poor defensively, they have lacked creativity in and threat from midfield. Abramovich has reported affirmed the player’s quality and he believes the uncapped Brazilian can help turn the fortunes of Chelsea this season.
