Done Deal – Frenchman Agrees Chelsea Transfer, Will Sign Four Years Deal, Announce Soon

Chelsea v Hull City - Premier League

He was once the subject of a heated transfer controversy that earned Chelsea a transfer ban before it was all sorted out, many tipped him for a great future at the Stamford Bridge, but he hasn’t been able to perform up to those heights, and he has spent a majority of his time away on loan from the club. This coming season won’t be different, as Gael Kakuta has reportedly agreed to a 4-year deal with Europa League finalist, Sevilla.

The 23 year-old spent the last year on his current Chelsea contract with Rayo Vallecano, and there have not been hints from Chelsea as regards a new contract. His stint with the La Liga club was fair enough, as he scored 5 goals and made 7 assists for the 11th-placed side, but it wasn’t enough to earn him a recall to the Stamford Bridge as he doesn’t seem to be in Mourinho’s plan for next season who has a lot of better wingers in his lineup.

The France under-23 international winger joined Chelsea from Lille 8 years amidst heavy controversies, and has only made 7 appearances for the side. With loan terms at Fulham, Bolton, Dijon, Vitesse and Lazio, he hasn’t been able to put up performances worth a Stamford bridge recall. However, after seeming to have adapted to life in the La Liga, 5th-placed Sevilla wants him, and could agree on a fees with Chelsea soon.
