Drogba – Our destiny is in our hands…

The Chelsea striker Didier Drogba scored yet another goal, to give Chelsea the lead against Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-final, and now thinks that it is simply up to the team to carry on playing with belief, and go on to win the Double.

‘We expected a different game from Villa, and that’s exactly what happened,’ reported Drogba.

“It was a difficult start to the game. The pitch was not easy to play on, even if it’s better than before, but also the conditions of the game made it difficult.

“Villa lost 7-1 a few days ago and they came and tried to defend, which they did well.

“We created only one or two chances in the first half but in the second half we became stronger with more spirit. That gave us the chance to create more situations in front of goal.’

“It was a difficult game against Villa, there are some days where maybe you are not at your best but you are lucky to score.

“The game against Man Utd is the one that gave us more belief in the League. Now we have to focus on Tuesday’s game which is going to be really important for us.

“We will try to achieve this double. It is not easy. We have six games to go and we have to focus on the League, then we can think of the FA Cup Final.

“We want to win. Our destiny is in our hands. We just have to win our games and then nothing can stop us.”

If Drogba keeps scoring the way he has been doing, then I agree. Nothing can stop us!
