Ex-Chelsea striker Didier Drogba keen on emergency loan deal

Didier Drogba has requested an emergency loan deal away from the Chinese club, as the current Chinese Super-League has just finished, even though the current FIFA regulations forbid such events.

‘The FIFA administration services are looking into it,’ FIFA stated.

The Ivorian Forward who scored the final penalty to claim the Champions League last season is seeking some playing time ahead of his January trip to the African Cup of Nations, and Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in boosting their front-line if the option was to become available.

It is not seemed likely to go ahead as players playing in Major League Soccer in the United States have had similar requests turned down in the past, the only difference is Drogba´s reasoning includes his preparation for a FIFA tournament in the African Cup of Nations.

Speaking earlier this month about Chelsea, Drogba said: ‘If everyone agrees, it is possible I will go and train there until the African Cup starts. But that is all it will be.’

That was before asking for special dispensation from FIFA and could now be looking for some Premier League football, and could help give Chelsea the boost they need to get back in the title race.

Didier Drogba was a huge player for us last year, and I was gutted to see the Chelsea Legend leave, and with John Terry and Frank Lampard missing many games through injury, another big presence would be welcomed. Rafa Benitez will not be welcomed…
