Fernando Torres Thanks Chelsea Fans For Their Patience

When Fernando Torres first signed for Chelsea no-one could of predicted the difficult times that lay ahead. But finally after two goals in his last two appearances the striker is beginning to show signs of the form that brought him to Stamford Bridge in the first place, and Torres has thanked the fans for standing by him during his barren spell in front of goal.

Speaking yesterday Torres said, “Obviously, when you are doing great, scoring goals from the first day and doing good performances, it’s easy for the fans to love and support you. But the first six months for me at Chelsea have been very, very difficult and I have been struggling. However, I have always had the support of the fans. From the first day till now, every time I talk with them on the street, the café, everywhere, I can feel the support they are giving me so it is nice to start scoring for them.”

Is it a coincidence that Torres’ form has coincided with the arrival of fellow countryman Juan Mata and his former team mate from Liverpool Raul Meireles, and the dropping from the side of Frank Lampard?

Personally I think not, and lets hope his form continues tonight against Valencia in the second game of this seasons Champions League.
