Hazard admits Chelsea need "to concentrate"!

EDEN HAZARD admits he must raise his game to help end Chelsea’s alarming slump.

The Blues are still looking to register a first win under interim boss Rafa Benitez following the ruthless axing of Roberto Di Matteo last month.

And with their Champions League fate hanging in the balance, Hazard has made it clear that both he and his team-mates need to improve quickly.

He said: “There are always things that you want to improve. I’ve played some good games and some bad games.

“The important thing is to concentrate every match and try to do better so you have no regrets after the game.

“Every match you play, you have to play to your best and be more consistent, scoring more goals. That’s the thing.”

Hazard, 21, made a blistering start to the season having joined from Lille for £32million in June.

But the Belgian has lost for in recent months, along with many of his collegues, and is determined to turn that around.

In a scenario no Chelsea fan envisaged at the start of the season, the Champions League holders must win at Stamford Bridge and hope that Group E leaders Shakhtar Donetsk defeat Juventus.

Anything less than a win for Benitez’s side and three points for Shakhtar will see the Londoners eliminated at the first hurdle.

Hazard admits the stakes could not be higher, especially with Chelsea fans relentlessly calling for Benitez to be sacked.

He said: “Everything depends on the last match, unfortunately.

“We have to get a result from the last match whatever happens elsewhere.

“At Lille last season it was the same. We absolutely had to win but sadly we did not succeed.

“At Chelsea the aim is to win the competition, whereas at Lille the aim was to get past the first stage.

“It is also different with the supporters because here they expect you to win games. You feel the greater expectations.

“But there are similarities, yes indeed, and I hope this year we do manage to get past the group stage.”

If we win and fail to get through, Rafa has had no say in our Champions League exploits, if we fail to win, Rafa’s days must be numbered. As for Hazard, he has shown great ability so far, but ultimately players need to adjust to the Premier League and to their new team. It will take a bit of time to get the consistency but with these great players, it is only a matter of time.
