Following his lack of sportsmanship and temperamental nature, Chelsea’s striker Diego Costa has been been tongue lashed by fans and football pundits for his unrepentant smudgy football.
Chelsea were for the second time this season beaten by the Potters at the Britannia Stadium and as a norm for Costa, he was involved in a tangle with some of Stoke City’s player.
The coach of Norwegians side Malmo was a member of the pundits in a sport program last night and he expressed his dismay at players that make several assimilations in other to gain the referees favour as typified by what Costa fervently does.
Åge Hareide, speaking by Dagbladet said:
“I hate that kind of player. It is difficult for the referee and it puts them in a difficult situation. Give him a yellow, and then a yellow card if he does it again and send him into the stands.”
In Arsenal’s match against Chelsea, Costa was involved in an a braw with Koscielny and subsequently Gabriel Paulista before he was suspended by the Premier League FA for his instigating Gabriel to getting a red card.
A lot of pundits have asked Mourinho to caution the player to focus more on his football than seeking to hurt/hunt opponents. Meanwhile, Costa’s form has been unimpressive this season, he’s scored three goals this season.
