Diego Costa has come out to debunk rumours stating that he is leaving the premier league champions. Costa who ended the season injured was his club’s highest goal scorer and he would have been in contention for the golden boot. The 26 year old Spanish striker who moved to Chelsea from Atletico Madrid last summer for the fee of £32 million and reiterated his love for the club and fans and denies wanting to leave.
In an interview with the club owned Television station, Costa said “[It is] quite a simple answer. It’s always a bit more difficult in the first season for adaptation, but I have no reason to leave this place, I love it, the fans love me and I want to stay.”. He goes on further to say “It’s really good to come in the first season and win two things,” he explained. “It’s really important and next year I’ll be ready to come back and hopefully win a couple more trophies.”
This should calm down frayed nerves of fans who would have loathed hearing the news and with his commitment to the club, fans can expect another trophy laden season once the new season kicks off.
