Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has spoken to Spanish publication Marca on the Blues speculated interest in Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.
The Chelsea manager told Marca that his interest in Griezmann goes no further than an admiration for him as a player and he ruled out any chance of a transfer this summer “Griezmann is a great striker but is not within our objectives to strengthen the squad for next season. We’re not interested.”
Also when quizzed about Chelsea’s interest in him Griezmann clearly avoided being questioned but however had this to say “I’m good at Atletico, I just arrived and I’m not a player who moves the first year. I still need to learn and know that I can do it here and get very far at Atletico. I hope I can.”
Also when asked about his purported move to Bayern Munich Griezmann was also quick to skip answering any more questions related to that. However, he had this to say :
“I do not know if it’s true or not because they are rumours, I am happy at Atletico.”
Whether all this statements from the duo are pretentious and witty, only time will tell as the clock ticks away to the opening of the transfer window. Only time will tell
