Ivanovic Replacement? Abramovich SANCTIONS Deal For £80,000-A-Week UCL Winner

John-terry-9088The blues are reported to be interested in acquiring the services of the Spanish right-back, after the position has become problematic this season due to the horrible form of Serbian defender, Branislav Ivanovic.

Considering the torrid time the Serbian has been given by a variety of wingers, it comes as no surprise but it will be to those who still marvel at the continued use of Cesar Azpilicueta at left back when he could easily make the right back position his own.

Dani Carvajal on the other hand has not had the best of times with the Merengues this season. The acquisition of Brazilian right back, Danilo from FC Porto over the summer has greatly reduced his game time and with the Euro 2016 tournament holding in France over the summer on the horizon, the Madrid player will be desperate for more game time to ensure he books his seat on the plane. That won’t be easy, players like Juan Fran of city rivals, Atletico Madrid, his team mate at Madrid, Alvaro Arbeloa (who Del Bosque seems to trust), Cesar Azpilicueta of Chelsea and recently, Hector Bellerin of Arsenal all battling for two spaces on the team. That is not mentioning Sergi Roberto of FC Barcelona who has done well in that position this season.

It’s easy to see why Chelsea are interested in him. He’s young and his form is definitely better than what they have right now in their Serbian stalwart. It could be a win-win situation for both the player and the Blues.
