The Chelsea captain John Terry refuses to accept he has had a dip in form since the revelations of his affair with Vanessa Perroncel, and says it is normal for any footballer, no matter how good, to play an occasional bad game.
“I’m totally fine with my form. For England, I think my performances have been very good right through the World Cup campaign,” said Terry.
“And, contrary to what everyone else is saying, my form is fine for Chelsea as well.
“If I’m going to play 50 or 60 games I’m expected to have one, two or three bad games.
“That’s standard – you are not going to play well every game. Not even Wayne Rooney and Lionel Messi can do that.
“It’s inevitable you have bad games, it’s all about how you respond and I think I’ve responded well.”
Even if John Terry was not playing well, I would still rather that he could face Liverpool on Sunday. He is our leader!
