John Terry given new mega-contract at Chelsea
The Chelsea captain John Terry has reportedly been given a new contract which will make him the highest paid player in the Premiership at £170,000 a week. That is ONE MILLION every SIX WEEKS. Not bad for a local boy made good!
Chelsea have been busy this summer resigning the squad and making sure they stay together, and this news comes just a week after it was announced that Ashley Cole had just been made the highest paid defender in the world. Well that record didn’t last long!
John had a few words to say to the fans, and wanted to explain why he was never going to accept an offer from Man City, no matter how much they offered.
“I love the fans, I`ve got a great relationship with them and I`ve unfinished business after missing out on the Champions League. It`s trophies like this that I want to win with Chelsea.”
“It`s disappointing, considering how long I`ve been at the club that some supporters thought I was leaving.”
“I`ve been here since I was 14 and for a club to come in and make an offer for me, I was honoured by that.”
“But to spend so long at Chelsea then for people not to know me as well as they really should do was disappointing.”
I never thought you would leave John! And not many people i know did either. You are a big part of Chelsea, and you always will be!
