Chelsea’s captain John Terry has not yet received a call from the newly appointed England manager Roy Hodgson, as the coach is preparing to announce his EURO 2012 squad.
The one who has been the backbone of Chelsea and England’s defense for such a long time, John Terry, was the main reason for Fabio Cappelo’s departure, so now everybody wants to see whether Roy will choose to use the 31-year-old or choose to leave him behind.
The captain has spoken about this, and being out of the Champions League final the defender didn’t seem too happy not to receive a call yet.
“I’ve not had any call yet but I’m focusing on the league and Chelsea at the moment,” the defender said on Thursday night at Chelsea’s Player of the Year awards.
“Hopefully, I get the call and I’m in the squad – and that goes for many of us here.
“I’ll always be there for my country.”
This is certainly the worst season Terry had in his career since joining Chelsea, and the rib injury still seems to taunt the veteran defender who would have been a great addition to England’s back line regardless of his age or how many games he managed to play this season.
