Chelsea’s terrible performances this season has been largely helped by the lack of goals from their number on striker Diego Costa and with just three goals to his name so far this season, the Spanish international striker Diego Costa may be on his way out of Stamford Bridge already as Mourinho has reportedly been told to sell him off as he has been a shadow of himself.
Although there is still long way to go in the season but the striker’s streak does not look ready to end soon and Mourinho has been warned to let go of the striker now when the club can still make something off him.
According to reports from the Metro, Arsenal legend Ian Wright has told Chelsea’s manager Jose Mourinho to sell the striker at the right opportunity before things get worse for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
He said, “I would sell him at the first opportunity I get for Costa. I’d sell him.”
“As brilliant as he was in the first season, he’s playing a lot differently now.
‘He’s antagonised at the moment. If I was a defender I would just keep talking to him, it takes him away from his game.
‘When he first got here he was concentrated on scoring goals and being in the box, now he’s doing everything else.
‘He’s outside the box and getting involved with people. At this moment, he’s the last centre forward Chelsea need.’
Chelsea fans are also of the opinion that instead of Costa increasing his goal tally, he has only been increasing his enemies in the English Premier League as he has been constantly looking for a reason to have a go at every defender he plays against so far this season and the list is getting longer.
To add to his problems, reports are suggesting that even had it the club owner Roman Abramovich is getting worried that Costa’s childish pranks will tarnish the image of the club.
It remains to be seen how far Costa will go without being shooed away from the club if he does not resume scoring.
