Jose Mourinho Sends Chelsea Representative Negotiate £25m Transfer Deal

Nicolas-Gaitan

The rate at which in the last one week there has been reports in the Portuguese media about the exit of Manchester United target Nicolas Gaitan, you would think all the journalists in Portugal were called into a meeting and paid to write about the exit of the Benfica star. The player was initially said to be on his way to Manchester United but in the last couple of days, Chelsea has been drawn into the rumour.

Gaitan has been one of Benfica’s key players in the last few years if not their very best player and from all indication, the main reason why the player is still playing in the Portuguese league instead of in a league where enormous talent deserves is because his agent has not fought hard enough to get the player to leave the club like other agents would have done. If you consider the same agent is the one representing the interest of Port’s Jackson Martinez, you will understand better.

However, if new reports are anything to go by ( let’s for once forget all the rumours in the last few transfer windows about the player’s transfer been a done deal to *insert club name of your choice here* ), Jose Mourinho has been following the progress of the player and has sent several scouts to have a look at the player. It is reported that Jose Mourinho has personally decided to use his connection in the Portuguese league to sign the player and wants a deal done fast.

Although critically looking at things, Chelsea do not need a player like Gaitan ( although I must admit he is a very good player ) especially as there is Oscar, Willian and co but if the reports that Willian, Oscar and Ramires are leaving the club are true, then signing Gaitan will make a lot of sense especially as he will not only offer the directness Oscar and co do not offer at the moment but his signing will annoy Manchester United fans as well.
