Lampard, Bosingwa and Ashley Cole to miss crunch Arsenal match

Chelsea have been lucky with injuries so far this season, while Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd have all had some problems, but now it seems it is Chelsea’s turn to get a glut of players on the treatment table.

Frank Lampard’s six hour flight to Dohar with England seems to have put paid to his chances of playing again this year, and with Ashley Cole’s fracture to his tibia, and Bosingwa’s knee operation, it looks like Carlo Ancelotti is going to have to do a little shuffling of the pack before the crunch game against Arsenal at the Emirates in two weeks time.

The good news for the Chelsea defence is that the Brazilian star Alex is now close to full fitness and Ivanovic has been performing brilliantly since he came into the team.

Chelsea have also got Paulo Ferreira back after a whole year out of action as extra cover. As long as John Terry hasn’t been affected by the travelling to Qatar, and Ricardo Carvaho stays fit, the defence should still be reasonably strong for the visit to Arsenal.
