The news of Chelsea’s clinching of the Premier League title after 5 years of waiting, almost made another news – one that happened before the Crystal Palace victory, unheard. The team’s midfielder, Brazilian Ramires had earlier been named in the team’s starting lineup, but his sudden health concerns made Cuadrado take his spot. The player was reportedly complaining of sudden sharp stomach pains in the dressing room, which is suspected to be likely kidney problems.

Coach Jose had to cut his celebrations short as he headed to the hospital immediately after the match to pay the likely-to-depart player a visit.

“He went to the hospital. He was feeling so bad we had to take him out of the dressing room. I am going to visit him now. He was feeling really bad.”

The coach told reporters after the match. Tests are to be carried out on Ramires, in order to determine the exact nature of the kidney illness that made the team’s medic refer him to be hospital.

Hours after, the 28 years old took to social media Instagram to thank fans for wishes sent to him while on the emergency trip to the hospital. Although the cause of the sudden renal complication hasn’t been revealed, but the player is out of the hospital and home with his family.

“Hello guys! As you saw, I was very sick yesterday minutes before the match because of a renal complication, but I’m well and home with my family. Thank God it was nothing serious and I will be fully recovered in a few weeks.

“Thank you to all that sent me messages and were with me. I would like to thank the Chelsea’s medical team for the exceptional job. I was sad not to be part of the party on the pitch, but very pleased with the title, the only English title I had left to concur(sic). Congratulations Chelsea!”
