The Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has had a fantastic season at Stamford Bridge, and now he wants the France coach Raymond Domenech to recognise his improvement and give him the starting place on the left wing at the World Cup.
“Competition for places exists at Chelsea, and I have shown that I am the best. Now with the French team, I hope that one day the coach realises that maybe I am the best on the left.” said Malouda.
“Since the last World Cup I am calmer, perhaps, and have a lot more experience – but I still have exactly the same hunger for victory.
“I still remember the way we lost the final and how horrible and crushing that experience was. I am desperate for a chance to make amends. The level I am playing at now does not compare to how I was playing in the past, I am a level above.
“I was voted Player of the Month in March. The season is coming to an end but I know I must aim to keep up this form. As my mum always said, I have taken things step by step but I was always focused. You have to have objectives in life.”
Well I think you certainly deserve it after your oerformances this season Florent, and I hope you play just as well at the World Cup!
