Chelsea are have had a torrid start to the season, following their recent feats in the premier league having lost 7 games already this term. They suffered their most recent loss away at Stoke City last weekend in a game which saw Marko Arnautovic score the lone goal to secure the victory for the Potters at the Britannia.
The loss to Stoke leaves Chelsea at 16th on the log with just 11 points in 12 games, reports suggest that the sack looms near for Jose Mourinho but the Chelsea board have recently expressed their backing of the Portuguese manager.
Mourinho will be looking to salvage good deals in January and one player he should certainly consider signing is Dortmund ace Marco Reus. Reus has been in Mercurial for Dortmund this season having bagged a number of goals and assists already alongside his strike partner Aubameyang.
He would definitely fit in quite nicely to Chelsea and would come in to replace Fabregas in attacking midfield. Fabregas is a shadow of the player he was last season having been unable to replicate his form of last season which saw him make 18 premier league assists.
Reus would be a better option for the Blues as he would combine well with Willian on the flanks while posing an attacking threat through the middle. Reus has been hailed as one of Germany’s finest talents of the decade with the German ace regarded as Dortmund’s best player.
He has great vision for a killer pass and possesses impeccable technique and pace which would come in as a key asset in the premier league.
Mourinho should definitely consider signing him in January as he would give the Chelsea midfield an additional boost which could in turn change their fortunes for this season. He would be available for a fee around the region of £30m.
His addition to the Chelsea squad would be a motivational one as seen with Arsenal when they signed Ozil last season. Reus would be seen as a marquee signing and he would improve the overall performance of the squad.
