Nathan Allan de Souza is set to appear at the Stamford bridge outfit by summer, the wonder kid coming from Atlético Paranaense has reportedly completed his medicals and passed them. The delighted 19 year-old midfielder took to twitter to break the news.
“Very happy!!! In London to sign my contract with Chelsea and take tests”
This is coming after he had an excellent performance at the last Fifa under-17 world cup held in the U.A.E, where he scored 5 goals for the Brazil team youth. He had caught the eyes of scouts at the tournament, including Premier League clubs’ and Porto’s. The Portuguese giants were in the race for the midfield prodigy before Chelsea clinched a deal for 4.5 million pounds.
Although the young playmaker is likely to be loaned off immediately he arrives, he has expressed his happiness about the move to Chelsea. He has admitted to be fond of fellow Brazilians, Oscar and Willian, and also P.F.A player of the year, Eden Hazard. Mourinho isn’t likely to include him in his squad for next season, as he still lacks first team experience. The special one made it clear earlier in the month, through his comments about not working on the Brazilian transfer, that he wasn’t part of his plans for the coming campaign.
Nevertheless, Nathan is a versatile player who can also do well as a second striker and left winger, and whichever club he ends up being loan too will enjoy his services, as he is one of the most promising Brazil youngsters. Even though veteran South American football reporter, Tim Vickery has questioned Chelsea’s choice of the lad. This is because of his displays at the under-20 level for Brazil, that he claimed has been below standard, but it is agreed all over the footballing nation of Brazil, that Nathan is one budding player to watch out for in the coming years.
